Sunrise Photography Workshops Are Back, Baby!
You asked, you waited, and eventually, you maybe even sent a few “hurry up already!” emails. At long last… I’m thrilled to say that my photography workshops are making their grand return! While I have many different workshops in the pipeline, we are going to start out with the “Sunrise and Coffee“, where we are going to dig in and work on a little sunrise photography!
We’re talking Off-Camera Flash, Camera Fundamentals, Lightroom for Beginners, Advanced Lightroom… and yes, Seascapes will be stealing the show. 🌊
Sunrise Photography Workshop
However, let’s be clear—this isn’t a dry lecture with a droning voice and a billion bullet points. Nope. No PowerPoints, no “blah blah,” and definitely no standing at a podium pretending I’m cooler than I am.
My workshops are hands-on, heart-first, and full of aha! moments. We’ll be working side-by-side, digging into your gear, your style, your questions. I won’t talk at you—I’ll talk with you. After all, I’m not here to be your teacher, I’m here to be your partner in creative crime. As past participants have said, it’s more than just instruction:
“It felt like learning from an old friend who just happens to be a photo wizard.”
“Mike makes complex stuff simple—and somehow fun!”
“He doesn’t just teach, he inspires.”
In short, if you’ve been waiting to finally understand your camera, conquer Lightroom, or make magic with light—now’s your time.
☀️ Sunrise & Coffee Workshops – August 2 & August 16
Rise and shine, early birds—my Sunrise & Coffee Workshop is back on the calendar twice! Join me on either August 2 or August 16 for a single-day immersive sunrise photography experience that blends inspiration, caffeine, and creativity.
These are two separate sessions for two small groups of students—so you can pick the date that works best for you.
🕓 Schedule:
We’ll meet on location at 4:30 AM—yep, it’s early, but the magic light doesn’t wait.
We’ll shoot until about 8:45 AM, chasing sunrise and seascapes, then head to a cozy local restaurant for the second half of our adventure:
☕️ Coffee. Breakfast. More coffee.
🎞️ Image review, not critique.
We’ll talk about your process—what inspired you, what worked, what didn’t—and how to move your vision forward. Yes, some photos won’t come out the way you hoped. That’s part of the process. It’s art, not accounting. And we’ll wrap everything up by 12 noon.
🎯 Workshop Philosophy
Each session is limited to just 3 attendees. Why? Because I want to actually work with you. I want to hear your ideas, your goals—whether they’re technical or wildly poetic.
Rather than a lecture. this is a collaboration. A dialogue. A chance to take your vision seriously.
We’re not going to cover the basics like “what is aperture” or “how depth of field works.” To be clear, you’ll need to know your camera already. This is sunrise photography and so much more. This is about expression, intention, and storytelling through your lens.
🧰 What to Bring
Required Gear:
- A camera with full manual exposure control
- Tripod
- Camera remote/release
- Flashlight or headlamp (red light setting strongly preferred)

💸 Investment
The regular price for this hands-on, soul-forward workshop is $399.
For a limited time, only for these first two dates, I’m offering an introductory rate of $329.
