The Bald Eagle – the Symbol of a Nation

The Bald Eagle

The Bald Eagle has long been the symbol of the United States of America, and I thought that it would be fitting to share this photograph with you today, Veterans Day. As you enjoy your holiday weekend, please take a moment to think about the people that serve our country

I have always loved the bald eagle, and have photographs, paintings, and statues of eagles all around my home. A few years ago I had the opportunity to travel down to

Wind Over Wings, a raptor rehabilitation center in Connecticut, to photograph this amazing bird.

I took this photograph with a 70-200mm Canon lens on a Canon Rebel Xsi body at with a wide open aperture of f/2.8 at 200mm to throw the background, a pine tree, out of focus. This was one of my very first experiences with PSRI, my local photography club, and i got to make some great photographs, I made some friends, learned a few things and had a great time!
