The Manchester Street Power Plant stands tall as an industrial icon of Providence—strong, unapologetic, and woven into the city’s identity. On this evening, while walking along the river’s edge, I noticed a sculpture positioned just right to frame the plant’s glowing stacks in the distance.
That contrast stopped me in my tracks. The creativity of the sculptural foreground paired with the raw industrial strength behind it created a quiet visual conversation—art meeting industry, softness meeting structure.
