The Story Behind “Sakonnet Point Lighthouse“
Few places carry the quiet majesty of Sakonnet Point in Little Compton. Known by some as “God’s Country,” this stretch of coastline has a way of slowing you down, especially as the sun begins its descent and the day loosens its grip.
Captured with a long lens, this image isolates the lighthouse against a sky ablaze with color, allowing the silhouette to speak for itself while the sky does the heavy lifting. Below, soft waves catch faint reflections of the fading light, grounding the scene and reinforcing the stillness of the moment.
Sakonnet Point Lighthouse is a reminder that sometimes the simplest forms paired with bold, honest color are all you need to tell a story. It brings both coastal calm and sunset drama into your space—an image that invites a daily visual exhale.
Limited Edition Information
An edition of 25, and then it’s closed.
You get a 12×18 inch image printed on 13×19 inch archival paper. I print it myself. Each print is signed, titled and numbered.
The story behind the photograph comes with it, printed on 9×11 fine art paper, along with a Certificate of Authenticity.
Artist’s proofs (AP) are also made. They are numbered and marked AP, and I use them at my discretion.
Open Edition Information
Open Edition prints are made by Blazing Editions, a fine art print studio I’ve worked with for over a decade. I’ve been through their shop and watched how they work. They print to order with archival pigment inks, on paper or metal, and I trust them with my images.
Paper or Metal?
Paper gives you the most detail and the traditional look. Metal is glossy, vivid and tough, and it hangs without a frame.
Both use archival materials and archival pigment inks.
These are fine art prints. Frames are not included.
Which Size?
When in doubt, I’d go a size up.
The Print Size Guide shows how each size looks in a room.
