Coastal photography by location, Maine to Florida

I’m Mike Dooley, a coastal photographer based in Rhode Island, with photographs from Maine to Florida. I’ve been shooting the Rhode Island coast for more than 30 years, and most of my prints come from there. The rest come from day trips and road trips: Cape Cod, Maine, New Hampshire, Connecticut, North Carolina’s Outer Banks, and lately a beach on Florida’s Gulf Coast.

Start with the pictures. Tap a photograph to see its print, or the town page it came from. Each region below also links to its own page, and the stories are there when you want them.

Prints are paused while I move to Florida. Want to know the day they reopen? Send me a note and I’ll add you to the list.

Connecticut

Half of my Connecticut work is sunflowers, including the fields at Buttonwood Farm in Griswold. The rest is a pair of trees on a hill and the Big Dipper over a farm.

North Carolina’s Outer Banks

Beaches, piers and lighthouses, inside and out, plus Jockey’s Ridge State Park in Nags Head. The black-and-white lighthouse is Bodie Island, just south of Nags Head. More photographs from here are coming. See the full Outer Banks page →

South Carolina

Edisto Beach State Park, on the coast of South Carolina.

Florida’s Gulf Coast

This one isn’t the East Coast, but it belongs here. This fall I’m moving to Venice, Florida, and the Gulf Coast light is already showing up in my work. See the Florida page, or go straight to Venice or Siesta Key.
