This page rounds up the press coverage, gallery exhibitions, and honors Mike Dooley Photography has picked up over the years — from a statewide blood-donor program commission to solo shows in Providence and Narragansett galleries.
I never really set out to get written up anywhere — I just kept showing up, taking pictures, and putting them online. But over the years a few things happened that I’m genuinely proud of, so I figured they deserved their own page instead of being scattered across old blog posts.

In the March 2014 issue, photography writer Joe Farace featured my website in his Web Profiles column — Joe’s been writing about photography and cameras since 1981, so it meant a lot coming from him. He wrote that I “turn it up to 11” with my photographs. Still can’t quite get over that line. Read the full story
2014–2015 Seasons Pass Artist, Rhode Island Blood Center
This one means a lot. The Blood Center asked me to be their Seasons Pass artist — a local photographer commissioned to create a piece for their donors — and I said yes without hesitating, because 15 years earlier they’d given my father over 70 units of blood while he fought a serious illness. I photographed “The Lighthouse” at Beavertail as my way of saying thank you. NBC’s WJAR Channel 10 covered it twice — once when I was named that year’s artist, and again at the press conference where we unveiled the photograph — both interviews with Barbara Morse Silva. 32 of my 16×20″ prints, nicely matted in white, on display for three months (Nov 20 – Feb 15) at Providence Picture Frame — the largest art installation company in New England and the oldest framing company on the East Coast. Read about the opening
