The story behind it

We were hiking Great Smoky Mountains National Park, heading off to explore one waterfall or another, and I found an endless number of places along the way to photograph, each with its own feel. I was struck by the quiet. I rarely met another soul on my hikes, which surprised me. It was mid-April, and the park was just starting to come to life.
