The Story Behind “Sunrise and Flowers at Rocky Point”
This is the print from the morning the wildflowers along the Rocky Point shoreline caught the first light before the rest of the world woke up. I almost walked past them, eyes fixed on the horizon chasing the big dramatic sky, until the color at my feet asked for a second look. Sometimes the moment you are looking for is not in front of you, it is underfoot. Hang this where you will be reminded to look down as often as you look up.
If the tree looks familiar, it’s the same one in Tree at Sunrise.
Rocky Point used to be an amusement park. Generations of Rhode Islanders grew up on its rides and its shore dinner hall clam cakes. The park closed in the ’90s, and today it’s a state park with open fields, a walking path, and the pilings from the old pier. On a summer morning the fields fill in with wildflowers like these.

Limited Edition Information
An edition of 25, and then it’s closed.
You get a 12×18 inch image printed on 13×19 inch archival paper. I print it myself. Each print is signed, titled and numbered.
The story behind the photograph comes with it, printed on 9×11 fine art paper, along with a Certificate of Authenticity.
Artist’s proofs (AP) are also made. They are numbered and marked AP, and I use them at my discretion.
Open Edition Information
Open Edition prints are made by Blazing Editions, a fine art print studio I’ve worked with for over a decade. I’ve been through their shop and watched how they work. They print to order with archival pigment inks, on paper or metal, and I trust them with my images.
Paper or Metal?
Paper gives you the most detail and the traditional look. Metal is glossy, vivid and tough, and it hangs without a frame.
Both use archival materials and archival pigment inks.
These are fine art prints. Frames are not included.
Which Size?
When in doubt, I’d go a size up.
The Print Size Guide shows how each size looks in a room.
Shipping & Handling
Every print is made to order and packed with care.
