I don’t share a lot of people in my landscapes, but this one needed him.
I was walking the beach at Siesta Key, camera in hand, half-looking for a shot and half just enjoying the evening. Then I saw him: a man standing alone at the water’s edge, just taking it all in. I didn’t know him, never spoke to him. But something about the way he stood there, small against the sky and the water, said more than any empty landscape could have.
Sometimes the story isn’t the horizon. It’s the person standing in front of it, lost in their own thoughts, same as the rest of us.
