Massachusetts

Massachusetts is close enough to my Rhode Island home base for day trips and road trips, and it has given me some of my favorite photographs: the rocky shore at Westport, the outer tip of Cape Cod at Race Point, and a World War II submarine in Fall River.

Westport

Westport is just over the Rhode Island line. At Westport Beach, waves swirl around a lone rock at golden hour. At Gooseberry Island, the sun breaks into a starburst over rocks in clear, shallow water.

Cape Cod: Race Point

Race Point sits at the outer tip of Cape Cod, near Provincetown. I went for the Milky Way over the Coast Guard station, and waited for first light at the lighthouse after a long, dark hike.
