Photographers Know to Keep a Camera Close By to Capture those Special Moments
Many top photographers know to keep a camera handy when they are out and about. Photography is all about capturing a moment of time. However, a photographer does not always have control over when or where that moment is going to occur. Regardless of whether you are into landscape, seascape, wildlife or any other type of photography you will encounter these moments and wish you had a camera.
I recently ran across this very occasion, and was reminded of this simple lesson. It was the middle of the day, just a little before 1 PM and my wife and I were headed to a friends for a cookout. Photography was the absolute furthest thing from my mind. As we drove by an open field I could not help but notice a large number of White Tail deer standing silently by the side of the road.
I quickly turned the car around and parked at a gas station and grabbed my camera from the backseat. I was able to approach the white tail deer quietly and carefully so as not to scare them off. I was able to get off a handful of photographs before the wailing siren of a rescue startled the deer and they disappeared into the woods.
The deer were there for only a few moments, and because I was fortunate enough to have my camera close by and ready to go I was able to get some great photographs of a fleeting moment.
