Night Photography at Waterfire Providence!

Waterfire Providence is a Great Time for Night Photography of the City

One of my favorite types of photography is night photography, and the city of Providence is an amazing place to explore with a camera. On certain Saturdays in Providence the night photography is taken to a whole new level. On these unique nights you can head downtown to check out Waterfire Providence.

The rivers of Providence come alive with bonfires that transform the rivers into works of art, and the streets are filled with people dancing and singing along with the festivities. One of the many special events that go on at Waterfire are the gondola rides along the Woonasquatucket and Providence Rivers offered by La Gondola. The beautiful gondolas with “drivers” in period costumes add a magical quality to the night!

High above the city streets, the dancers from Project Badaloop danced their way along the side of the 30 story One Financial Plaza Building, to the delight of the crowd below. These folks dance on anything vertical – skyscrapers, bridges, billboards, cliffs and movie screens!

Waterfire Providence is a great way to explore the city, perform some night photography and have a great time. I look forward to heading in for the next one! I hope that you enjoy my photographs or Waterfire Providence, and that perhaps they inspire you to head into the city to check it out!
